Product Description
Competition for admission to law school is intense, with many if not most students hoping to gain admission to a 'dream' law school. Many of these students then hope to transfer to that dream school. The intensity of the law school experience-along with the exclusivity of top law jobs-feeds a desire among many law students to 'transfer up' to their dream school.

This book is a guide for these law students. It points out the difficulties and potential traps, and walks students through the transfer process. Importantly, this is the only book available in this topic.

5 out of 5 stars Insightful   September 3, 2009

The authors of this how to book offer an insightful look into an area that has never been touched upon before in written work. This book is ideal for that law school student who strives to transfer to a different institution but has no idea where or how to start. What better guides to have on this journey than those who have already completed it. Carrabis and Haimovitch (the authors) break down exactly what needs to be done and how it should be done in order to be successful. One can only hope these two authors venture into other "how to" areas with there simple and clear writing.

5 out of 5 stars A must read for students looking to transfer   October 31, 2009

The Art of the Law School Transfer is an excellent book for potential transfer students. It discusses every aspect of the transfer process from beginning to end. From how to narrow your potential transfer schools to adjusting to your new transfer school as a 2L. Additionally the book provides a chart of transfer acceptance percentages for a good number of the top 100 schools. Also, it provides sample resumes, transfer statements, and Letters of Recommendation. Lastly, the intro is written by a student that transferred to Harvard!! This is a must read for all potential transfer students.

5 out of 5 stars Coming from a recent transfer student...   November 2, 2009

...this is very good. I wish I had read this book before transferring--as it would have been very helpful. Even after the actual transfer though, I found that the book had some good ideas for integrating into the new school (tips that have been very helpful to me right now).

There really aren't many resources about transferring law school--believe me, I just went through the whole ordeal--and I was very happy to find this book as it really did have great advice.

The book is thorough, well written and easy to read. I was pleasantly surprised by the examples and illustration provided by the authors. Also, the transfer chart that depicts the current success rate of transfer schools was very helpful in determining what schools to send applications to. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who is thinking about transferring law schools.

I was able to receive this book when it first was published. The book is very easy to read and flows very well (and fast). I was very suprised how in-depth the book goes into the law school transfer process. There are so many issues I would have never even thought of in the transfer process, but I now feel prepared for. I recommend this book for anyone who is intersted in the transfer process and wishes to not only get into the best law school possible, but really get an edge up when starting their 2L year.
